Judges will be looking for entries which showcase the impact an apprentice has had on the organisation they work for in the Health, Education & Care sector, as well evidence of personal self-development and progression.

Throughout the judging process, judges will be looking for an apprentice who is able to demonstrate a passion for their chosen apprenticeship.

Essential Criteria

  • The apprentice must currently be an Intermediate Apprentice (Level 2), an Advanced Apprentice (Level 3) or be completing a Higher Apprenticeship.
  • The majority of the employer’s business must be based within Bristol or Bath.
  • You must be able to clearly demonstrate your/ the apprentice’s contribution to the workplace.
  • If apprentices are submitting the entry directly, they must be able to provide a 150 word supporting reference from their employer.
  • Your answers should be up to 250 words.


  1. Why should you/your apprentice be the winner of the Outstanding Apprentice of The Year (Health, Education & Care – Private or Public Sector)?
  2. A brief outline of the company the apprentice works for.
  3. An overview of the apprenticeship, roles and responsibilities.
  4. Examples of how you/they have had a positive impact within the role.
  5. Why you/they chose the apprenticeship route, and plans for the future.
  6. 150 word supporting reference from employer (if entry has been completed by the apprentice themselves).
